Updates on my BANDIDA

It's really been a while since I posted anything here. Couldn't seem to find the time to write especially since I still haven't found a yaya for Kalli. I'm just thankful that I have my mom, my sister and May to help take care of her. She's now in the stage where you really have to watch her. She doesn't want to stay in her crib anymore. And even when she's in it, you still have to watch her cause she tries to climb the walls of the crib and whatever toy is in it! She loves to walk - and sometimes run - around the house, usually carrying big, bulky stuff, and she often does not want anyone holding her hands. She even tries to go down the terrace steps now without assistance! Two weeks ago, she would wait for you to hold her hand before she would go down. But recently she's been trying to go to the fish pond from the house on her own. One time she even fell! Good thing I caught her before she hit her head on the steps. Whew! When on the bed, she often does her wresting jump where she would jump high and land on her bottom with feet apart. She also loves to turn and twirl around. I get dizzy watching her do that.

Kalli has also developed some pretty bad habits :( She has learned to throw tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants. Like when she doesn't want to stay in her high chair, she would bang her head on the chair continuously until you take her down. Or, recently, she has learned to get off her highchair straps and she would stand up on her chair. She also does her drama cries and can be quite the toughy even when we are scolding her already! Tsk tsk tsk... kanino kaya nagmana to???

Anyhoo, even with all her bad habits, she can still be quite charming, specially when she shows you her "beautiful 'pa-cute' eyes". She has learned to hug and kiss, and recently, "group" hug too. She's quite talkative when she's in the mood. Of course you'd need a baby dictionary to understand her words, but she has gotten quite good at conveying what she wants with gestures and expressions. She loves to mimic actions and learns very, very quickly. She "almost" can wear her shoes on her own! She loves to feed the fishes, going from the indoor pond to the outdoor one, then do it all over again. Good thing we only give her the sealed fish food. Otherwise she would have killed the fishes by overfeeding, hehehe. She knows how to use the tv remote control and the microphone without us teaching her. She also loves to sing and dance. She'd dance to any tune!

Among the words that she has learned to speak are: MAMA - for water and for any complaint she has, and occasionally for me, hehehe; DADA or DA - for daddy or whatever else; DUTS - for tita Dutch; TATA or TA - for tita and tito; PAPU or PA - for grandpa, though I have no idea why. Sometimes even for grandma; POOH - for Winnie the Pooh. Of course she still has her lion roar, cat meow, dog bark, and recently "MAMAMA or MEMEME" for sheep, hehehe.

For actions, she still does her pig pout, which also applies to "orig" (bicol word for pig), her fish expression, her monkey clap (because of the monkey with the cymbals in baby einstein), her duck quack with her arms, her panda action (wiping her mouth - again, she saw this in baby einstein), her ladybug dance, her horse gidiyup, her butterfly fly (putting together her hands), her bird or dog call with her fingers, which also applies to calling people, hahaha, and her "gigil", which is also her refrigerator. Other words that she recognizes, though without action, are: eyes, nose, tongue, ears, face, hair, giraffe, snakys (snake), airplane, boat, clock, her baby einstein DVDs, ball, christmas tree... actually, there's just too many now that I can't mention all :)

Physically, Kalli has grown taller and her hair has grown longer. She now has 8 teeth, with one just barely showing on her gums. Hopefully she grows more teeth soon.

Ok, I think I'll stop for now. Gotta budget my time when Kalli's asleep, hehehe. In the meantime, hope you enjoy these few pictures of Kalli "The Pirate", taken during her dad's office kiddie christmas party.
