Trick or Treat

Last halloween Kalli went trick or treating at his daddy's office. It was her first trick or treat experience and she was excited to wearing her Snow White costume. Snow White was her favorite Disney movie and book that time (for the longest time!) and we really had no choice but to buy her that costume, hahaha. I must say she really looked so adorable wearing it :)

After doing the rounds, she attended a halloween party at the top floor. She really liked mingling with the other kids there.

Here's Kalli sitting demurely on her chair.

And of course that didn't last, hahaha. I don't think she's the demure type ;) Look at her crawling between her dad's legs!

She loved playing with the balloons too, barely paying attention to the host with the scary mask.

She got lots and lots of candies from her trick or treating. I don't let her eat chocolate and candies though, except for her favorite jellies. When she saw them in her bag she got busy pretty quickly :D

Here's a group shot of the kids. Kalli was one of the youngest there.

Of course there are tons of pictures more and I plan to make a tabblo of them. I just don't know when I'll get the time to do it :( I know I know, so many backlogs...

Hopefully soon...

Packing for Hongkong

Only four days to go until our Hongkong trip! And we haven't packed a single thing! I mean Leo and I haven't packed anything yet. As for Kalli....

I'm all ready to go!

I've got all I need. Pillow, milk, and nappy!

Don't you dare leave my things behind!

Hahaha, I so love dubbing her pictures :)

Magic Word

Kalli has been talking non-stop now and we've been trying to teach her to talk respectfully. She says PLEASE most of the time, but sometimes she forgets. Like this one time she was trying to make me open the picture frames and swap the pictures...

KALLI: Open it! Open it mommy!
MOMMY: Open it please
KALLI: Open it mommy
MOMMY: Say please Kalli, Open it please
KALLI: Open it please
MOMMY: Very good

After a while, she forgot again...

KALLI: Open it! Open it!
MOMMY: What's the magic word Kalli?
KALLI thinks for a moment and says quietly: Please?
MOMMY: Yes Kalli, that's the magic word, so that mommy will open it for you.
KALLI: Open it mommy!
MOMMY: What's the magic word?
KALLI shouts excitedly: Open it, MEESKA, MOOSKA, MICKEY MOUSE!

Padumpum!!!

Onga naman, magic word! Si mickey talaga oh! Hehehe

( for those of you who didn't get that, try visiting http://atv.disney.go.com/playhouse/mickeymouseclubhouse/index.html ... o di ba, plugging pa!)

Kalli Playing in Her Room (Part 3)

Here's Kalli playing Hide-and-Seek with Cookie and Bert. My favorite lines here are "Where's them?" and "Here I come!", hehehe

Here's Kalli playing Sinbad. She loves the movie by Dreamworks and likes to role play all the time :) She used to role play Snow White, but now she's in her Sinbad phase.

I love this video! It's so funny how she covers her eyes and thinks she's already hiding. Hahaha, it's so adorable! And she shouts "Where's Kalli too!" I love it!

Here's another one. Hala, nagkaubo-ubo na! Hehehe

Ok, that's it for now. Enjoy!

Kalli Playing in Her Room (Part 2)

As promised, here are more of Kalli's videos:

Part 3 will be coming up.... Enjoy!

Kalli Playing in Her Room

Here are some videos of Kalli taken this afternoon in her room. We were trying to put her to sleep but she just wanted to play and talk so I thought I'd take some videos of her. I'm posting three video clips here but actually there's so much more. I just haven't finished uploading all of them in youtube yet.

Here's one with her playing with Donald. She's so "daldal"!

Here's Kalli playing pretend. Notice how she's speaking spanish now? Hahaha, she got that from watching Dora and Diego. She kept saying "subi" and that's supposed to be "climb" in spanish. Except when I checked it on an english-spanish translator it's not really "subi" but "subir". Nyak, mali pa, hahaha! Well what do I know???

Here's Kalli dancing and acting. She's such an actress! I can't wait for her to join the theater, hahaha.

That's it! More to come...

Kalli's First Haircut

Tabblo: Kalli's First Haircut (part I)

Kalli had her first haircut last September 27, 2008. She was so brave and at her best behavior - like a demure little girl. Mommy and daddy were so proud of her!

This is just set one. Wait for part 2 of this tabblo where I'll post the rest of the pictures plus her "Cuts for Tots" certificate :)

Kalli Daldal

I know I know! September's almost gone and not a single post! My only excuse is that we've been pretty busy lately. Kalli was also sick for a week and was confined to the hospital. I've started blogging about it, but so far it's still in draft form. I'll finish and publish it soon. For now I just want to write some updates here.

At 22 months Kalli has been conversing pretty well now. She speaks in sentences and even knows her grammar. The other day I heard her tell tita May "Get it tita May! Get it!" She was asking her tita May to get the toy on the other side of the bed. Finally she reached for it herself and said "Got it!" Imagine, she knows her past and present tense! Hahaha. She also knows plural forms (she's been using this for a long time now). She adds S to her words when there's more than 1. One ball, Two balls. One Toy, Many Toys. Only problem is that she's also saying "Many Peoples", hahaha. But that's alright. She also knows the use of 's for ownership. Again, this one she has known since forever. She says "Mommy's pillow". Or "Daddy's car". OR "No tita LA, that's mommy's", when she sees tita LA using my blanket. No one taught her these things. She just figured them out on her own. It really pays to talk to kids the right way and not baby talk. You'll be amazed at how quickly they learn! Yesterday we went to mass and Kalli was looking inside her bag. She found a pack of biscuits and she wanted to open it. She went to her dad, thought for a moment, then said "Abye! Abye!". Hahaha, for those of you who didn't get that, she was saying "Abre! Abre!" Now she's speaking spanish too, thanks to Dora and Diego! These past couple of days she has been using "Abye" instead of "Open". It's quite funny really :)

There's so many things that I want to write about, but I just don't have the time. Hopefully I'll have more time after next week... or maybe not :(

Oh well, back to work...

I'm making a tabblo for this set... but here's a teaser for now :)

Kalli's Numbers and Sentences

Ok, I know a lot of you have been waiting for new pictures or videos of Kalli, so here they are. Sorry the orientation is wrong again. I keep forgetting that you can't rotate videos :( Anyhoo, up-side-down or down-side-up, I'm sure you'll enjoy these :)

KALLI COUNTING AT 20 MONTHS

Notice how she even tries to correct her pronunciation? ;) Mommy's so proud!

KALLI'S FULL SENTENCE

Ok, I told you about this before right? Well in case you didn't believe me.... (hehehe)

Until next post!

May I Have Ball Please?

Kalli was trying to wake her tita LA the other morning when she saw the basketball on the shelf. She asked me for the ball saying "ball, ball". I told her "may?". She thought for a moment, then slowly said "MAY I HAVE BALL PIS?" Oh my goodness, my baby's talking in sentences now! Hahaha, tita LA was quite shocked. I too was a little surprised that she got all the words correctly, though I was hopeful she would. She actually has been practicing the night before. At first I didn't realize what she was doing. She kept saying the words "have", "I" "pis" (please), "may". Understanding dawned on me when she told me "MOMMY, MAY HAVE NOAH PIS?" (Note that Noah is her book). I was so proud of her then, even though she forgot the word "I". She really is a smart kid :)

Since then she has spoken these sentences on her own (without prompting):
  • "May I have mamam pis?" - when she was asking for the milk yesterday
  • "May I have buds pis?" - when I was trying to put her to sleep last night. She loves it when I clean her ear with the cotton buds.
  • "Mom pis?" - meaning "more please"
  • "May I have donut pis?" - just this morning at breakfast
She tries really hard, though sometimes the words "I" and "May" drops off. Or sometimes the order is wrong like "May have I..." Still, I think she's quite amazing given that she's only 20 months old. I'm SOOO proud of my baby girl :)

Kids Day at Gymboree

We've been bringing Kalli to gymboree these past few months, and last sunday we invited some of her friends to join her. She had so much fun playing with the other kids. Afterwards, we all went to Bonifacio High Street and they played in the park some more.

I'm planning to make a tabblo of this - probably next week. In the meantime, you can browse the pictures here: http://www.zoto.com/iyaleo/albums/16333/

Enjoy!

Ship ship

Kalli and I were playing on the bed last night when I asked her if she wanted to read a book. She nodded her head and sat on the corner to wait for me to get one. Kalli loves her books and she remembers all of them. I usually make her choose which one she wants to read, and so last night I asked her again.

MOMMY: Kalli, what book do you want?
KALLI: ship ship (nodding her head quite vigorously)

I thought for a moment, what could she mean? Then I remembered her Brainy Baby Shapes and Colors book. She probably meant Shapes.

MOMMY: Oh, you want Shapes and Colors?
KALLI: mommy ship ship
MOMMY: Shapes? Shapes?
KALLI: ship ship
MOMMY: Yes baby, shapes
KALLI: No mommy no. Ship ship.
MOMMY: Boat? You want little mermaid? (thinking yaya might have told her about Prince Eric's ship)
KALLI: Mommy no. ship

I paused and looked at her.

KALLI (nodding her head like she's talking to a baby): ship ship mommy... baaah baaahhh

Hahaha! Well of course she meant sheep! Now why didn't I think of that??? Well, in my defense, she has never called the sheep "ship" before. She has always called it "baaaah" (just as she calls the cow "mooo"). But then she learns so many things everyday, I shouldn't have been surprised :)

So I took out her "Old McDonald" book and her "Brainy Baby Animals" book from the cabinet and showed it to her. She nodded her head happily and waited for me on the bed.

And then we started reading :)

Kalli's 1st Birthday Party Suppliers

I just posted the suppliers for Kalli's 1st birthday party but I set the date to December 2007 (since sobrang tagal na nya, hahaha). If you want to read it, you can visit the link below:

I'll try to post Kali's latest pictures and videos soon.

Kalli and Pooh

Kalli has a lot of toys. And I mean A LOT! She gets them from practically everyone. All of them seem to want to spoil her. Tita "Ey ey" (Kalli talk for LA), however, has the record for the most number of "pasalubong". We don't even know where to put them anymore.

Anyway, Kalli loves all of her toys. I guess one big reason why everyone keeps giving her stuff is because you can really see on her face how much she appreciates them. She gets all twinkly eyed and excited when you tell her you have "pasalubong". And that's not just for toys. She appreciates everything - clothes, food, even things that are really not for her! And she has learned to say "thank you" too (actually that's ngengoo, hahaha) - so that's added consuelo ;)

But I digress...

Of all her toys, her favorite are her stuffed animals. She cuddles them, talks to them, plays with them... she knows all their names.

But her most favorite of all is Winnie the Pooh.

Pooh is tita LA's old toy that Kalli made her own. And Pooh is her best friend. She plays with Pooh all the time. She makes Pooh drink her milk (with the bottle cap on of course). She carries him on her arms and pretends to put him to sleep (and that's pretty difficult for her since Pooh is just a little smaller than her). She plays her blocks with Pooh, making him hold them and move them around. She dances with Pooh, making him do her dance steps (with mommy's help of course). She sings to him, reads to him and teaches him her flashcards. When Kalli's not in the mood to learn her cards, I usually tell her to teach Pooh. She would then tell Pooh what the letters or the drawings are on the cards.

Lots of times she wouldn't wear her nappy unless Pooh wears one too. At first I used the XXL left-over nappies from my baby shower games. When they were gone, grandma used the"lampin" (cloth diapers) for Pooh's nappy. You would also find Pooh wearing some of Kalli clothes sometimes. And when I dry her and powder her after a bath, I would also need to dry and powder Pooh too. I sometimes feel like I have 2 kids! Lately Kalli has also learned to seek Pooh for comfort. When she's in a tantrum, she'd go to Pooh, hug him tight or lay her head on Pooh's tummy and cry "Pooh, Pooh". Kala mo inapi! She's such a drama queen, hahaha.

Anyway, Leo and I are thinking that maybe she wants to have a brother or a sister already. Or maybe she just needs another kid to play with since all her playmates are grown-ups. Or maybe kids are just like that - playing pretend and making use of their imagination.

I don't think it's harmful to Kalli to have Pooh as her best friend. I actually find it quite adorable.

Don't you? :)

Kalli and Her Body Parts

As promised, here's a video of Kalli and her body parts. She was not too agreeable when we took this video so we'll probably do another take of this. For now you can enjoy this clip:

She has learned so much! She knows her eyes, ears, mouth, nose, tongue, teeth, head, hair, face, neck, shoulder, arms, hands, fingers, heart, tummy, knee and toes! Hopefully we'll be able to take a video of her pointing to all of these parts :)

SNORE!

This is just too funny! Enjoy the video :)

Do the Alphabet!

I know, I know! It's been soooooo loooooooong since I posted here! My only defense is that I've been busy. Busy with what? With Kalli of course! It seems she is becoming more and more "makulit". People who see her often comment on her "kakulitan" - NO kidding! You'd think she's a boy!

Anyhoo, here's a list of my Cagalli Corner backlogs that I plan to complete when I get the time:
  • Kalli in Baguio stories and tabblo
  • Kalli's ride tabblo
  • Kalli loves the horse tabblo
  • Kalli's day in the sun tabblo
  • Kalli's tea time tabblo
  • "Ako ay may lobo" video
  • Kalli's body parts video
  • Updates on Kalli stories
  • Day at Gymboree tabblo

Whew, that's a lot! And I'm sure I've forgotten a few more. Why, I may need to hire my own Cagalli Corner crew with the rate I'm going!

Anyhoo, here's a video of Kalli doing her alphabet. She has learned so much already! Our goal is for her to learn all her letters before she turns 2. That's still 6 months to go. Plenty of time :)

Enjoy the show!

OH-OH

Kalli and I were playing on the bed yesterday when I accidentally hit her milk bottle and the cap fell on the floor. I said "Oh-oh". Kalli, being the gaya-gaya that she is, looked at me and also tried to say "Oh-oh". She tried it 3 times before she got it right. Of course I was so proud and immediately praised her for her accomplishment. She smiled at me, got her book from the bed, dropped it on the floor, then said "oh-oh". She did that until there were no more books and toys left on the bed. OH-OH indeed!

Tito Bernard is Baby!

Heard this this morning...

Tita LA (calling Bernard while carrying Kalli) : "Be!"
Kalli the gaya-gaya : "Be!"
Tita LA : "Be!"
Kalli the gaya-gaya : "Be!"
Tita LA : "Baby!"
Kalli the gaya-gaya : "Bebe!"
Tita LA : "Baby!"
Kalli the gaya-gaya : "Bebi!"
Kalli the gaya-gaya : "Bebi!"
Kalli the gaya-gaya : "Bebi!"

Hehehe, tito Bernard's now Bebi. Kalli's so talkative now, and super gaya-gaya! :)

Kalli and Dutch at Serendra

Just sharing Kalli's pictures at Serendra. This was taken last February 10, 2008.

Kalli the Dancer

Kalli loves to dance. She really does! Every time she hears music, she starts dancing. And she has her own moves too! As far as I know, nobody taught her to dance as she does now. She matches her moves to the music - slow or fast, she has the beat. It's really so fun to watch :) Now I wonder where she got that talent from? Definitely not from me, hehehe...

Anyway, here are some videos of Kalli dancing. Enjoy the show!

Kalli dancing to the Mickey Mouse Song..."Dance with me tita LA!"

Sorry this one's up-side-down. Di marunong si mommy mag video, hahaha!

Updates on my BANDIDA

It's really been a while since I posted anything here. Couldn't seem to find the time to write especially since I still haven't found a yaya for Kalli. I'm just thankful that I have my mom, my sister and May to help take care of her. She's now in the stage where you really have to watch her. She doesn't want to stay in her crib anymore. And even when she's in it, you still have to watch her cause she tries to climb the walls of the crib and whatever toy is in it! She loves to walk - and sometimes run - around the house, usually carrying big, bulky stuff, and she often does not want anyone holding her hands. She even tries to go down the terrace steps now without assistance! Two weeks ago, she would wait for you to hold her hand before she would go down. But recently she's been trying to go to the fish pond from the house on her own. One time she even fell! Good thing I caught her before she hit her head on the steps. Whew! When on the bed, she often does her wresting jump where she would jump high and land on her bottom with feet apart. She also loves to turn and twirl around. I get dizzy watching her do that.

Kalli has also developed some pretty bad habits :( She has learned to throw tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants. Like when she doesn't want to stay in her high chair, she would bang her head on the chair continuously until you take her down. Or, recently, she has learned to get off her highchair straps and she would stand up on her chair. She also does her drama cries and can be quite the toughy even when we are scolding her already! Tsk tsk tsk... kanino kaya nagmana to???

Anyhoo, even with all her bad habits, she can still be quite charming, specially when she shows you her "beautiful 'pa-cute' eyes". She has learned to hug and kiss, and recently, "group" hug too. She's quite talkative when she's in the mood. Of course you'd need a baby dictionary to understand her words, but she has gotten quite good at conveying what she wants with gestures and expressions. She loves to mimic actions and learns very, very quickly. She "almost" can wear her shoes on her own! She loves to feed the fishes, going from the indoor pond to the outdoor one, then do it all over again. Good thing we only give her the sealed fish food. Otherwise she would have killed the fishes by overfeeding, hehehe. She knows how to use the tv remote control and the microphone without us teaching her. She also loves to sing and dance. She'd dance to any tune!

Among the words that she has learned to speak are: MAMA - for water and for any complaint she has, and occasionally for me, hehehe; DADA or DA - for daddy or whatever else; DUTS - for tita Dutch; TATA or TA - for tita and tito; PAPU or PA - for grandpa, though I have no idea why. Sometimes even for grandma; POOH - for Winnie the Pooh. Of course she still has her lion roar, cat meow, dog bark, and recently "MAMAMA or MEMEME" for sheep, hehehe.

For actions, she still does her pig pout, which also applies to "orig" (bicol word for pig), her fish expression, her monkey clap (because of the monkey with the cymbals in baby einstein), her duck quack with her arms, her panda action (wiping her mouth - again, she saw this in baby einstein), her ladybug dance, her horse gidiyup, her butterfly fly (putting together her hands), her bird or dog call with her fingers, which also applies to calling people, hahaha, and her "gigil", which is also her refrigerator. Other words that she recognizes, though without action, are: eyes, nose, tongue, ears, face, hair, giraffe, snakys (snake), airplane, boat, clock, her baby einstein DVDs, ball, christmas tree... actually, there's just too many now that I can't mention all :)

Physically, Kalli has grown taller and her hair has grown longer. She now has 8 teeth, with one just barely showing on her gums. Hopefully she grows more teeth soon.

Ok, I think I'll stop for now. Gotta budget my time when Kalli's asleep, hehehe. In the meantime, hope you enjoy these few pictures of Kalli "The Pirate", taken during her dad's office kiddie christmas party.
